To help you navigate our site and services, our lot listings have icons which help you establish the relevant fees, duties and taxes that may be applicable in relation to the items you’re bidding on.  

Before bidding, please make sure you understand how these lot icons will impact you depending on your location.

Next to the current bid price on each lot you will see one of three icons, which provides information if hovered over (clicked when using a mobile device).

  • If you are a Buyer based in the UK, no VAT is applicable to the hammer price of this lot. Please note, VAT is applicable to all other fees and/or surcharges. 

  • If you are a Buyer based outside of the UK, please ensure that you understand the local taxation, restrictions and duties applicable upon arrival in your country.   

 

  • If you are a Buyer based in the UK, 20% UK VAT of the hammer price will be added at checkout. This is because the seller of the lot is a) located outside the UK or b) a UK VAT registered business. Please note, VAT is applicable to all other fees and/or surcharges. 

  • If you are a Buyer based outside of the UK, please ensure that you understand the local taxation, restrictions and duties applicable upon arrival in your country.  

 

  • This Lot is currently held In Bond in the UK.  

  • A bid is an agreement to purchase this item in bond.

  • Should the buyer wish to receive this item duty paid this must be arranged directly with the bond following purchase, with any fees / duties / etc. handled directly between the buyer and the bond

  • VAT is applicable to all other fees and/or surcharges
