INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING & IN-PERSON COLLECTION

We understand that shipping is an important service aspect for our customers, which is why we work hard to develop strong relationships with our delivery partners to ship to as many global locations as possible, stay up to date with all international regulations and provide the best possible service.  

See below for information about the delivery options in your country. 

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SHIPMENTS 

  • All prices quoted are based on a standard 70cl bottle and therefore may vary for heavier or larger bottles. Prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable. 

  • All deliveries must be signed for upon arrival by persons over the legal drinking age in the destination country - proof of age may be required. 

  • Delivery is available between Monday and Friday only. 

  • Delivery companies may require contact details for the recipient. Please include a phone number or email with the recipient address when placing an order. 

  • Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit. Except where the customer has opted and paid for Loss & Breakage Assurance, the risk of loss and/or breakage in transit is exclusively held by the customer; no claims shall be entered into by or against Rum Auctioneer. 

  • All orders being shipped outwith the UK may be eligible for local taxation and duties upon arrival in the destination country, which are payable by the customer. 

 

USA SHIPPING 

We are only able to ship to the following states and districts; Alaska, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington D.C., Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Wyoming. 

We are unable to provide tracking information and the shipment may take up to 14 days to arrive.

COLLECT YOUR ORDER IN PERSON FROM OUR OFFICE

Upon payment of your order you can select to collect your your whisky in person rather than pay for shipping. 

NEW SERVICE: FAST-TRACK, CONTACTLESS PICK-UPS

We’re pleased to let you know that we’ve designed up a new way to deliver our pick-up and drop-off services from our office.  From Friday 5 June, you will be able to book an appointment for a fast-track, contactless pick-up or drop-off of your bottles, both saving you time and keeping you safe. Please note that this is the only service to pick-up bottles at our office and strict social distancing measures are in place. You can find out more about this service here.

Our office is open Monday to Friday 10:00 to 17:00.  If you would like to pick up your bottles in person at our office in Perth, you must have made payment in advance as we will not accept payment on premises.

Please note that whilst all appointments are booked through our sister-site Whisky Auctioneer and your appointment confirmation email will be sent from info@whiskyauctioneer.com, your appointment will be assigned as Rum Auctioneer.

FAQs

Can I insure my bottles?

Most courier companies fail to cover alcohol or glass on their insurance policies. We can offer Loss & Breakage Assurance (formerly Risk Free Shipping) for your items at a cost of 3% of the total hammer price and commission.  

Loss & Breakage Assurance is automatically added to your order at the checkout stage, however, this can be removed.

We have many years experience in shipping rum globally and work hard to reduce any risk of damage to items bought in our auctions. 

Can I store items to save on shipping costs at a later date?

Items can be stored with us free of charge for combining multiple orders and dispatching at a later date. Please note that there is no charge for storage in our secure warehouse until 31 December 2020.  If there is a proposed change to storage terms after this date, we will let you know as soon as possible. 

You can collect your orders whenever we are open, but if you intend to have the items shipped then please complete our Ship Stored Orders form.

Can I collect my winning lots in person?

Yes. Upon payment you will be asked to select either collection or delivery. If you choose to collect your rum in person you will have 90 days to do so before a storage fee of £1 per day will apply.

Our office is open Monday to Friday 10:00 to 17:00. If you would like to collect outwith these hours please contact us to arrange, particularly at the weekends.

*Special Offer: We are currently offering free storage until December 31st 2020.

How long does it take to receive my winning lot(s)?

If you are successful at auction, once payment is received by Rum Auctioneer then your rum will be dispatched within 7 working days.

UK orders normally arrive within two days of dispatch. 

European orders normally arrive within five days of dispatch.

The rest of the world can vary dependent on location.
