The company was formed in the early 1960s as a merger of 4 main companies in the area, Backhouses, N. Carolan & Co., Mackins of Slane and Nicholas Hardy all produced soft drinks in addition to bottling Guinness.They dad a bottling plant on the Mary Street North which closed permanently in the early 1980's
They sourced this Rum from Jamaica and bottled it for many years before stopping in the late 1970s"
