Clarendon MMW 1999 Plantation Single Cask / The Nectar

A small batch vintage Jamaican rum, bottled by Maison Ferrand for the Plantation Rum brand.

Cask #03 was matured tropically for 17 years in a bourbon cask then for a further 2 years in the south of France in cognac, followed by a finishign period in an Arran whisky cask.

A well established cognac producer, Ferrand is increasingly involved in rum production, and are now the owners of the West India Rum Distillery, giving them access to stocks of Long Pond and Clarendon through its shares in National Rums of Jamaica.

This cask was specially selected for The Nectar, which was founded in Belgium in 2006 by Mario Groteklaes and Jan Broekmans. In addition to being a well-respected independent bottler, they are also one of Belgium's largest wine and spirit importers.
