product Details

Monymusk MMW Velier Tropical vs Continental Aging 2 x 70cl / E&A Scheer

Produced at Clarendon distillery in Jamaica, Monymusk is the name given to the small parcels of Clarendon distillate that is matured at the Innswood site, with the majority of the remainder being sold as bulk spirit for the production of major brands.

Like Hampden, the Monymusk brand has strong Scottish roots and is one of the oldest in Jamaica.

This lot comprises a dual-bottle presentation from the Velier and E.A. Scheer collaboration, Tropical vs Continental Aging. The pack contains two identical rums, except one has been aged fully in the tropics, and the other in Europe.

This contains two Monymusk MMW marked Wedderburn pure single rums, both 11 years old. The tropical aged rum is a blend of 10 casks of 2007 vintage, and two casks of 2008 vintage, all aged in Jamaica (69.1%). The other bottle contains an identical vatting, but this time the casks were aged in Liverpool, England (63.9%).

This is a unique opportunity to conduct a comparative tasting of two world class pure single rums.

Velier was founded in Genoa in 1947 as a wine and spirits importer and distributor. They selected their first single cask whiskies in 1992, bottled for them by Signatory Vintage, and have gone on to become one of the most collectible brands in the industry. Luca Gargano's involvement with the company has also positioned them as the one of the foremost authorities and bottlers of collectible rum as well.

This lot has a 2 bottle shipping fee.
