Renegade Etudes / WARI Charity Lot
The idea for the Renegade rum distillery was conceived in 2015 by former Bruichladdich Managing Director, Mark Reynier, and the name of the distillery is taken from a brand of independent rum bottlings that his Murray McDavid company bottled there during that time. Having sold Bruichladdich to Remy Cointreau in 2012, Reynier turned his attention to two new terroir-focussed projects, first the Waterford distillery In Ireland, and then this rum distillery on the Windward Island of Grenada. Like Waterford, Renegade uses exclusively locally-sourced raw materials. The distillery produces a fresh single cane spirit on a combination of a double-retort copper pot still and bespoke column stills made by Forsyths in Scotland. Production commenced in 2020, and the first rum was bottled and sold the following year.
Rum Auctioneer is delighted to have partnered with the Whisky and Rum Investors to hold a spotlight charity auction. The online group hosted an appeal for donations to raise funds for those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey & Syria. They would like to extend their gratitude to the extended whisky community for supporting this initiative.
This lot has been generously donated via their online appeal and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
