Port Mourant 26 Year Old That Boutique-y Rum Company Batch #1
A Port Mourant rum distilled in 1991. The Port Morant distillery in Guyana stopped production in the 1950s, with its double wooden pot still moved to Uitvlugt who continued to produce rum in the same style. Uitvlugt is now also closed, but the Port Mourant still lives on to this day, in use at Guyana's only remaining distillery, Diamond.
This is a 26 year old from That Boutique-y Rum Company, sister brand to the Whisky and Gin bottlers of the same nomenclature, famed for their irreverent graphic novel style labels.
The rum was shipped unaged to the Uk after distillation, when it was filled into recycled rum casks, and then refilled into new recycled rum casks in 2002.
