Lemon Hart 151 Proof Demerara Rum 75cl / US Import
An overproof bottling of Lemon Hart rum, bottled for the US market. The Lemon Hart rum company was founded in 1804 by Lehmynn Hart, and was subsequently named official supplier of rum to the British Royal Navy.
This will have been produced using bulk rum procured from Demerara Distillers Ltd in Guyana.
Demerara Distillers Ltd (DDL) was created by the government in Guyana as it attempted to consolidate the nation’s rum production. This began in 1974 and culminated with the closure of Uitvlugt in 1999, with its stock and stills moved to Diamond. DDL create a wide range of rum there using distillate from various combinations of its stills, which include the pair of two-column English coffey stills, installed there in the 1950s and a rarely used high-ester John Dore pot still. These operate alongside the “Heritage Stills” acquired from Uitvlugt, which are Uitvlugt’s own historic four-column French Savalle stills, the Versailles and Port Mourant wooden pot stills, and the Enmore wooden coffey still, the oldest and last of its kind in the world.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
