Engenhos do Norte 2015 Rum 970 Single Cask #311 / Rum Artesenal
Situated in Porto da Cruz on the north coast of Madeira, the Engenhos do Norte distillery was built in 1927 as the result of a merger between fifty smaller mill operations at the time. The facility produces sugarcane honey and aged agricole rums. It still uses the same steam-powered equipment as it did when it was first built, the last in Europe of their kind. Among these is a 7.5 meter tall Barbet column still, which produces rum for the distillery's many brands, including Branca, Rum 970, Rum 980 and Rum North. Interestingly, Madiera is one of the only places outside of French overseas territories where one can legally use the term Agricole or, in this case Agricola.
This Rum 970 brand rum was distilled in 2015 and aged in a single cask. It was bottled in 2021.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
