Cihuatan Nikte Limited Edition
A limited edition bottling of El Salvadorian rum named after the Mayan festival of flowers - Kay Nikte.
Licorera Cihuatán is a subsidiary of Ingenio La Cabaña of El Salvador. The company operates one of the nation's many mills, theirs dating back to 1920. The first attempts at distilling there took place in the 1980s under nationalisation, producing industrial ethanol. This was abandoned in the 1990s however, and it was not until subsequent privatisation that rum production began at the mill, with Licorera Cihuatán established there in 2004. The distillery uses the Ingenio La Cabaña’s own molasses, operates a multi-column still, and sells both bulk rum to independent blenders and bottlers, as well as warehousing stock for its own brands, which it solera ages in bourbon wood from Kentucky.
One of only 17,914 bottles.
