Paraiso 1998 Renegade Rum Company 11 Year Old

A limited edition Cuban rum from Paraiso distillery, distilled in 1998 and matured for 11 years in oak casks. 

Finished in Amarone casks before bottling by the Murray McDavid at Bruichladdich distillery for their Renegade Rum Company range.

One of 1800 bottles. 

Also known at times as Sancti Spiritus on account of the province within which it is located, the Paraiso distillery in Cuba mostly produces bulk neutral spirit for export. As it is not part of the state controlled Cubaron SA, its rum production is actually very minimal, accounting for only a fraction of its output. This is not used in the production of Cuban brands, so is mostly found bottled by independent European labels like this.
