The Island Rum Company

The Island Rum Company is an importer and distributor based in Oslo, Norway. It was founded in 2012 by Tore Villard, Hans Christian Holst and Enrique Arías, and its goal was to promote Cuban rum and other spirits within the global marketplace.

The company's flagship brand is called Black Tears, a spiced rum that it introduced in 2015. in 2019 it established a co-venture with the Cuban government-owned AzCuba called Ron Vigia SA. The 50:50 venture sees AzCuba distil spirit for the brands owned by The Island Rum Company through its Spanish-based subsidiary, Island Brands SL. These also include La Progressiva.
