MG Destilerías

MG Destilerías is a historic Catalan distilling company that is best-known for its gin production, primarily the Gin MG and its former Gin Mare brand which it now producers for the Brown-Foreman Corporation. It was established in 1835 and its distillery is located in Vilanova i la Geltrú, outside Barcelona.

The company entered the rum industry in 1987 when it became the Spanish agent for Havana Club until 1994. It subsequently established MG Caribe in Havana to distribute other Cuban rum brands and products and today it owns the Ron Santisima Trinidad label. It also has operations in the Dominican Republic, acquiring the a majority share in Barceló & Co in a co-venture with Grupo Vargas in 2003.
