West East Limited

West East Limited, also known as WEAL, was a company established in Mauritius in 1969. Its purpose was to centralise the the nation's sugar industry by combining its resources to the east and west of the country, merging Flacq United Estates Limited (FUEL) with The Medine Sugar Estates Co Ltd, which had operated the Medine distillery since 1926.

The company operated until 2001 when it was eventually de-merged, with both constituent shareholders seeking different avenues for diversification following the downturn of the sugar industry.
