Barceló Gran Anejo
Ron Barcelo traces its origins back to 1929 when Julián Barceló arrived in the Dominican Republic from Spain, starting a rum blending and bottling business the following year. The Barceló brand was officially launched in 1950, although the company did not have its own distillery until Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos (AFD) was built in 2009, beginning in production in 2010. The distillery was part-funded by Ron Barceló in partnership with Yazoo Investments and produces all of their rum for them today, in addition to bulk distilling for its other owners. The distillery operates a four-column still and uses sugarcane from its surrounding fields to produce ferment the molasses for its wash.
This is the Gran Anejo release from the Barceló label, and was produced prior to the building of Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos, when the distillery was still sourcing its rum from other producers.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
