The 21-year-old release from Appleton Estate was first introduced in 1996. Between then and 2020 it was released as an annual limited edition, with this expression then launched as part of a refreshed core range.

A historic rum company founded in 1825 in Kingston, Jamaica. As of 2012 it has been a subsidiary of the Italian multinational drinks company, Campari Group. The company owns two distilling operation in Jamaica, the Appleton Estate and the lesser-known New Yarmouth.
