A historic rum brand, produced in Jamaica by J. Wray & Nephew. Its name is a a contraction of Compagnie Rhumière Bale, the Swiss importer who created it in 1889. It is today owned by the Haecky Group who bought it 1993, and import the rum from Jamaica before blending and bottling it in Reinach.
A Jamaican rum company originally established as a subsidiary of the Swiss importer, Compania Rum Basel, whose flagship brand was the Coruba label. It was acquired in 1965 by J. Wray & Nephew which then operated it primarily as an export branch before selling it back to Swiss ownership in 1993.
