500 Cuts

500 Cuts was a brand of botanical spiced rum produced at BrewDog Distilling. The rum was double-distilled in Ellon, Scotland and infused with Tonka beans, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and spices. Launched in 2019, it was originally stylised as Five Hundred Cuts before being rebranded shortly afterwards. It has since been discontinued and replaced with a new range called Duo Rum in 2023.

The brand name was an homage to the 500 botanicals (referred to as "cuts") depicted in A Curious Herbal, a book written in 1743 by the Aberdeenshire-born botanical illustrator, Elizabeth Blackwell.
