Bloomsbury Atelier

Bloomsbury Atelier was a brand of sourced spirits bottlings from the Bloomsbury distillery. Opened in 2017, the distillery itself did produce its own distillates, however these were primarily focussed on its three proprietary products, an Amer, a Pastis, and an award-winning peated vodka.

However, one of the distillery's founders, Alan McQuillan, had experimented with rum during his earliest ventures into distilling in 2011. His enthusiasm for the spirit saw one become the first product from the Bloomsbury Atelier brand when it was launched in 2019. Titled Cubana, it was a high-ester Jamaican rum blended with distillates of Cuban cigar tobacco, cacao nibs and lime.

A second Bloomsbury Atelier product was bottled (a Shochu called Yamakara) but it was never brought to market after the closure of the distillery and liquidation of its parent company. Its assets, including distilling equipment, remaining stock and the Bloomsbury Atelier brand were auctioned off in January 2021.
