Ron Carioca is a very old brand of rum, originally produced in Puerto Rico by Compañia Ron Carioca, which opened what was at the time the largest distillery in the West Indies in 1937. The company was eventually bought by Many, Blanc & Co, who were in turn acquired by Schenley in 1945. The latter would then moved production of Carioca to its distillery in Valleyfield, Canada.

Schenley was bought by United Distillers in 1987, and a succession of subsequent mergers has brought the trademark into the hands of Diageo today. It is not currently in production, however.
