Établissements Lajus SAS is a company in Martinique that owns the Habitation Lajus and its associated agricultural activities, mainly sugarcane cultivation. It was established in 1948 by Jacques Bally and his son, Jean, and formerly operated a distillery on site that produced the historic J. Bally rum brand. The business was taken over by Gérard Assier de Pompignan (Jacques' grandson) in 1953 and he eventually shut the distillery down, opting instead to outsource distilling to Saint James.
The company exited the rum industry in 1986 when it sold a majority stake in the J. Bally brand to the Hayot family. A new company called Rhum Bally was established with an 85:15 split in shares between Distillerie du Simon SA and Établissements Lajus SAS, respectively.
