J. Bally is a historic brand of Martinique rhum agricole, introduced in the 1930s by Jacques Bally and originally produced at his distillery at Habitation Lajus where he laid down the first casks in 1924. It is instantly recognisable for his iconic iconic triangular pyramide and square carré bottle designs, and is today distilled and bottled at Saint James under the ownership of La Martinquaise.

The brand's range is currently includes a rhum blanc and rhum ambré, aged rums in VO, 7- and 12-year-old, and regular releases of vintage rum for which the brand is best known.

First J. Bally rum laid down in oak casks as Habitation Lajus.

Jacques Bally begins marketing his rum, helping to design the iconic pyramide and carré bottles.

Habitation Lajus is closed and its column still moved to Saint James along with production of the J. Bally brand.

The brand is acquired by Yves Hayot's Distillerie du Simon SA.

Rhum Bally SARL is established with the Assier de Pompignan family retain a minority stake through Établissements Lajus.

Production of the brand and the original Lajus column still are moved again, this time to Simon.

Velier SpA become distributors for the brand in Europe and later create their first co-bottling, Reserve Cantarelli.

Rémy Cointreau acquire the brand through the acquisition of Bally Sarl from the Hayot family.

Production of J. Bally is moved back to Saint James. The column still is too dilapidated and stays at Simon however.

COFEPP acquires the company Rhums Martiniquais Saint-James through its La Martinquaise division.
