Next auction starts Friday, 12 September. Ready to sell your rum? Sell with us in our next auction
Discover and bid on unique, rare and collectible rums in our online auctions each month.
You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £5.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).
Incremental Bidding Explained
Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.
Clarendon 1984 Silver Seal 36 Year Old 1.5 Litre
Clarendon distillery is one of the Caribbean’s newer rum factories, built back in 1949. Back then, it was a small operation, running a single pot still produced by legendary Louisville, Kentucky coppersmiths, Vendome. Today it is joined by a second, larger pot still of Indian manufacture, a modern five-column still, both installed in 2009. Operating between January and October each year, the distillery produces around 12 million litres of alcohol each year. Clarendon is technically two distilling operations in one. National Rums of Jamaica has a 73% share, with the remaining 23% owned by their biggest customer, Diageo, who end up taking 90% of Clarendon’s total output for their Captain Morgan and Myers’s brands.
Distilled in 1984 at 'Clarendon area'. This has spent 36 years tropically ageing before bottling from single cask #434043.
Silver Seal was founded by Ernesto Mainardi in 2000. This was Mainardi's second bottling company after the esteemed Sestane in 1979. Both companies were sold to Massimo Righi, proprietor of Whisky Antique, in 2010. Since then the company has produced a steady stream of high-quality rum to add to its sought after back-catalogue.
One of only 30 bottles.
This lot will include a two bottle shipping fee.
A Jamaica distillery that is majority owned by National Rums of Jamaica. The remaining shares are owned by its largest customer, Diageo, who use its spirit for their Captain Morgan label. The distillery's proprietary brand is called Monymusk.
An Italian independent bottling company originally established in 2000 by Ernesto Mainardi. As of 2010 it has been owned by Whisky Antique and Max Righi, bottling both single cask whisky and rum. Its notable releases include its Wildlife and Rum is Nature series as well as several blends.
