Bottle Details

This is an unusual old bottle of very old vintage Jamaica rum. Distilled in 1853, this was likely bottled in France by a wine or cognac merchants. The actual time spent in wood is unclear although this may have spent time in a flagon or demijohn prior to this.

This bottle is known to have passed through the hands of several collectors. The stickers on the back of the bottle where added by former owners and chart exchanges of the bottle in the 1930s and 1940s.

What time do auctions end?

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes.

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
