Ron Abuelo

Ron Abuelo is the flagship rum brand from Varelos Hermanos, a company established by Don José Varela Blanco in 1908. The label was launched in 1960 and introduced to export markets for the first time in 2001. It is distilled at the company's Hacienda San Isidro using its own yeast strain and estate-produced molasses. The rum is then aged either as vintage or within solera systems.

The brand's offering is divided between its Classic Range which includes its 7- and 12-year-olds, Two Oaks and Centuria expressions, and its Finish Collection which includes secondary maturation in various sherry, port and cognac casks.
