Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd was an Australian multinational based in Sydney that was merged with Coca-Cola European Partners PLC in 2021. The company traced its origins back to 1904 when it was founded as British Tobacco Company Limited. It expanded into the Australian food and beverage industry in 1963, eventually becoming Allied Manufacturing and Trade Industries Limited (AMATIL) in 1977. The company's ownership of various Coca-Cola franchises in the Asia-Pacific region eventually saw the soft drinks giant become a shareholder.
The company had interests in the rum trade, acquiring the South Pacific distillery and its Bounty brand in 1998. These were operated through a subsidiary now known as Paradise Beverages and in 2015 it renamed the distillery Rum Co. of Fiji.
