Goddard Enterprises

Goddard Enterprises Ltd is a multinational company based in Barbados, first established in 1921 by Joseph Nathaniel Goddard and his son, Victor. Through an array of subsidiaries, it has interests in a number of industries that include catering, manufacturing, automotive, building supplies and services, finance, and import distribution.

The company initially invested in the rum trade in 1939 when it bought its first stake in the West India Rum Refinery in Barbados. It acquired majority ownership in 1988, changing the distillery name to West India Rum Distillery Ltd in 1994. Through that subsidiary it acquired a one-third ownership of National Rums of Jamaica Ltd in 2006, before divesting them to Compagnie de Bonbonnet in France in 2017.
