Nine Leaves Unsun Karuta Collection

The Unsun Karuta Collection is a series of Japanese rums from the closed Nine Leaves distillery. After ceasing operations in 2023, the remainder of the distillery's stock was sold to Velier SpA who began releasing them through this collection, no doubt inspired by the Hanyu single malt retrospective released by Venture Whisky's Ichiro's Malt label between 2005 and 2014.

Unsun Karuta is a Japanese card game that originated in the Edo Period and believed to have been influenced by the introduction of European playing cards to 16th century Japan by Portuguese traders.
