Rum Artesanal is an increasingly popular German independent brand produced by the long-established wine and spirits distributor Heinz Eggert. Originally born from the brand Rum Albrecht (from which the initials “RA” are derived), Rum Artesanal was founded in 2003 and is led by Marketing and Brand Manager Dominik Marwede, whose hands-on approach - from cask selection and blending to label design - has taken the company to new heights.
Rum Artesanal is known for releasing a range of highly respected bottlings from distilleries such as New Yarmouth, Clarendon, South Pacific, Enmore, and Damoiseau, alongside many rums from lesser-seen producers around the world, introducing more unusual and distinctive spirits to the market.
The company have built a strong reputation within the independent bottler scene, admired not only for their exceptional cask selections but also for the remarkable attention to detail on their labels. Their transparency and depth of information resonate strongly with rum enthusiasts who enjoy delving into the technicalities rarely disclosed on official releases.
The Rum Artesanal label has been an important feature in Rum Auctioneer sales since our inaugural auction in 2019. As a rum-specific label, their releases captured the mood at that time for a rum-specific auction platform that properly allowed enthusiasts of the category to seek out new and interesting examples of the spirit. Their commitment to quality is echoed in their popularity seeing their early offerings in particular become true collector’s items.

Their quality has been widely recognised, winning multiple awards in Germany - including “Best of Show” at the German Rum Awards - and receiving consistently high praise on trusted rum platforms such as RumX, where their bottlings hold an impressive median score of 8.5/10.
Rum Artesanal’s decision to bottle in 50cl formats allows them to produce more releases from individually selected casks - offering high-quality liquid at accessible prices - while maintaining a distinct and instantly recognisable brand identity.
This month, our November auction features a fantastic selection of over 30 Rum Artesanal bottlings, offering a range as diverse as it is intriguing.
Highlights include fan favourites such as the New Yarmouth 1994 and Hampden ‘High Ester’ 1983, alongside lesser-seen curiosities like the Westerhall GMWE 1993 and CADC 2004. With crowd-pleasers such as the Versailles REV 1994 and Foursquare MBFS 2005 also among the line-up, this is an unmissable showcase for fans of this independant bottler.
