Next auction starts Friday, 10 October. Ready to sell your rum? Sell with us in our next auction
Discover and bid on unique, rare and collectible rums in our online auctions each month.
You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £5.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).
Incremental Bidding Explained
Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.
Grays 2010 Nectar of the Daily Drams 12 Year Old / LMDW
Grays distillery, officially known as Gray’s Distilling has its origins in 1931 when Harel Frères procured the Mauritius OK Distillery with a view to producing spirits form the country’s extensive sugar industry. In 1978, the company bought over its bottling partner to form Grays & Co, building the brand new Gray’s Distilling at Beau Plan in 1980, with the old distillery becoming Gray Refinery, and focussing on the production of industrial alcohols. With a new distillery and its own bottling operation Grays & Co began to promote their own brands in Mauritius, eventually partnering with Quartier Francais in 2004 to launch and globally distribute the New Grove brand. The distillery harvests its cane from its parent company’s estate, beginning in June each year, and ferments its molasses for 36 hours. The wash is then distilled on a 52 plate column still and laid down in French Limousin oak for ageing.
This was distilled in 2010 and aged for 12 years before being bottled by The Nectar in 2022 for LMDW.
The Nectar was founded in Belgium in 2006 by Mario Groteklaes and Jan Broekmans. In addition to being a well-respected independent bottler, they are also one of Belgium's largest wine and spirit importers.
A French company also known by the acronym, LMDW, founded in 1956 by Georges Benitah. It is now one of the largest spirits importers and distributors in Europe. Its has significant rum interests though its LM&V partnership with Velier in Italy and also produces several of its own brands.
