Next auction starts Friday, 10 October. Ready to sell your rum? Sell with us in our next auction
Discover and bid on unique, rare and collectible rums in our online auctions each month.
You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £5.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).
Incremental Bidding Explained
Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.
Don Pancho 1996 Sansibar 21 Year Old
A single cask rum from the Las Cabras in Panama, bottled by Sansibar at 21 years of age. One of 285 bottles.
The Las Cabras distillery was originally established as a sugar mill back in 1919. Having settled in Panama 1993, the old warehouse was discovered by Francisco “Don Pancho” Fernandez in the mid-1990s, including an old copper column still built by Copper & Brass Works of Cincinnati in 1922. Don Pancho had a lifetime of experience in rum production as one of the leaders of the Cuban rum industry under Fidel Castro’s government, earning him the nickname, the Great Grandfather of Havana Club. Don Pancho left Cuba when Cubaron sold the distribution rights for Havana Club to Pernod-Ricard, and partnering with his friend, Carlos Esquivel, decided to rebuild the Las Cabras distillery. The 1922 Copper & Brass is now the final column in a five-column continuous still set.
