The Courcelles distillery closed in 1964, with its alembic pot still moved to the Distillerie Sainte Marthe, which in turn was closed in 1974. The barrels were then long-forgotten until being discovered in 1998 and moved to the Poisson distillery in Marie-Galante. They have since been bottled by a select few companies, and these releases are increasingly sought after.
An Italian importer and distributor founded in Genoa in 1947. Under the ownership of Luca Gargano since 1986, it has become one of the most important companies in the world rum. It represents a huge array of brands in Europe as well as marketing a number of its own.
