A rum distillery on the Guadeloupe island of Marie-Galante. It was built by Edouard Rameau in 1916 within the sugar estate and factory established by Catherine Poisson in 1862. Today owned by Jean-Cedric Brot and José Pirbakas, it is the home of the historic Père Labat brand.
The long-serving brand name for the rum produced at Distillerie Poisson on the Marie-Galante island of Guadeloupe. It was introduced by Edoard Rameau in the 1940s and remains the flagship label of the distillery today, despite the problematic historical legacy of its 17th century namesake.
A company established in 2006 by Jean-Cedric Brot in order to acquire the the Poisson distillery in Guadeloupe and its Père Labat rum brand. The company is also part-owned by Séverin distillery boss, José Pirbakas.
