A Japanese distillery that operated between 2013 and 2023. Unusually, the distillery was owned by a large auto-parts manufacturer called Takehiro Co Ltd, and was a passion project of one of its partners, Yoshiharu Takeuchi. The distillery made pot-distilled rums from unique brown sugar base.

Takehiro Co
A Japanese auto-parts manufacturer, originally founded in 1909 as a lumber dealer by Hirokichi Takeuchi. It moved into car parts in 1938 and was incorporated in its current form in 1949. The company made the unusual step of diversifying into the rum trade in 2013, opening Nine Leaves distillery.
