Botran

Botran is a brand of rum produced by Licores de Guatemala at its Destiladora de Alcoholes y Rones (DARSA). The label is named after the Botran family who founded the Licorera Quezalteca in 1939, launching their flagship rum the following year. A series of mergers throughout the 1940s brought the company and brand into the Licores de Guatemala group, who now own it through a subsidiary called CB Enterprise.

Botran rum is distilled from "virgin honey" (a concentrated sugar syrup) on the two-column still at DARSA, and is still aged at Casa Botran in Quezalteca. The brand's core range comprises a range of solera rums aged in sherry, port and ex-bourbon casks, as well as a spiced variety called Cobre and a liqeuer called Fusion Guatemala.
