Licores de Guatemala

Licores de Guatemala is a rum producing company located in Mixco. The company has its roots in 1914 with the establishment of Industria Licorera Guatemalteca, and was formed in the 1940s through mergers with several other Guatemalan distillers, including Industria Licorera Euzkadi, Licorera Zacapaneca and Industria Licorera Quezalteca. The company owns the Destiladora de Alcoholes y Rones (DARSA) and the Ingenio Tulula sugar refiney, as well as Guatemalan Bottling Service (GBS) and Distribuidora Salvadoreña (DISAL).

At its distillery, the company produces a number of rum brands, most notably Botran and Ron Zacapa which are distilled from "virgin honey" (a concentrated sugar syrup) rather than molasses.
