Ron Zacapa is a brand of rum produced in Guatemala at the Destiladora de Alcoholes y Rones (DARSA). It was introduced by Licores Guatemala in 1976 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Zacapa municipality which borders Honduras to the east of the country. The brand was originally marketed through the company's Licorera Zacapaneca subsidiary, however is now owned by Rum Creation & Products, a 50/50 venture between it and Diageo who acquired their stake in 2011.
Ron Zacapa products are blends of solera aged rum, and its current core range comprises No.23, Edición Negra and XO.
