Engenhos do Norte

Engenhos do Norte is a distillery situated in Porto da Cruz on the north coast of Madeira. It was built in 1927 as the result of a merger between fifty smaller mill operations at the time and it produces sugarcane honey and aged agricola rums, notably still using the same steam-powered equipment as it did when it was first built, the last in Europe of their kind.

The distillery's many brands include Branca, Rum 970, Rum 980 and Rum North.
