Ronera Central is one of several rum distilleries that make up the portfolio of the state-owned Corporación Cuba Ron SA (Cubaron). It was built by the government in 1972 in order to replace the Bodegas Jagua facility which suffered a tragic fire that year. The current distillery is located in Santo Domingo in the Villa Clara province, and became part of Cubaron upon the establishment of the company in 1993.

The distillery is primarily engaged in the production of the company's Ron Cubay brand.
