Saint Vincent Distillers is a rum distillery located in Georgetown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It was built in 1925 as part of the sugar mill operation at the Mount Bentinck estate, becoming locally known as the Mt. Bentinck distillery. Unfortunately, the sugar trade in the region began to decline and the mill closed in 1963. The distillery was then nationalised by the government who renamed it Saint Vincent Distillers Ltd (SVDL) through a company of the same name.
SVDL was then privatised in 1996 when it was sold to the CK Greaves & Co group. Under its guidance it was fully modernised and a new portfolio of brands introduced that include Captain Bligh, Mutineers Gold and Sunset.
