Habitation Saint-Etienne
A former rum distillery established in Gros-Morne, Martinique in 1882. It operated for over 100 years, eventually closing in 1988. Although acquired by Yves Hayot's COMEX group in 1994, it has never re-opened and instead is an ageing facility for the Simon-distilled rum sold as the HSE brand.
HSE
A brand of rhum agricole from Martinique. The rum is marketed by the company, HSE SAS, and is a revival of the Habitation Saint Etienne rum brand produced at the estate of the same name. Although the rum is still aged there, it is distilled at the Simon distillery instead.
HSE SAS
A French company registered in Martinique that is the owner of the Habitation Saint Etienne, a former distillery now used as an ageing facility for the the HSE rum brand. The company was established in 1994 by Yves and José Hayot and buys its rum from their Simon distillery.
