J. Bally Cuvee Grand Siecle 1900 Rhum Vieux
A curious old example of rhum vieux from the J. Bally brand. The original J. Bally distillery at Lajus was only opened in 1923 and its first casks filled the following year. As such, it is likely that the 1900 stated on this label is a reference to the duration of the 20th century, and this Cuvee Grand Siecle is a vatting of many different vintages from throughout. The brand used the same name for a similar type of rum for its centenary in 2023.

A historic brand of Martinique rum, first distilled and bottled at the Habitation Lajus in Carbet. It was founded by Jacques Bally who designed its iconic pyramide and carré bottles in the 1930s. It is today owned by COFEPP through its La Martinqaise division and distilled at Saint James.
