A distillery in Haiti that produces the regional cane spirit, clairin. It was founded by Romulus Bethel in the village of Pignon, where he distils using a sugar syrup produced from three different cane varieties. Its spirit was introduced to export markets by La Maison & Velier in 2017.
The fourth brand of Haiti's clairin spirit to be introduced as part of The Spirit of Haiti range from La Maison & Velier. Debuting in 2017, it was the first in the series to be named directly after its distillery of origin and is sold in regular batches, unaged and pot still proof.
A Haiti company founded as a co-venture between Italian importer and distributor, Velier, and local rum company, Berling S.A. The latter is the majority shareholder of the operation which manages the acquisition, bottling and occasional ageing of clairin for the export brands of the former.
