A large distillery in Retalhuleu, Gautemala, often also referred to as DARSA. It is owned and operated by Licores de Guatemala and produces a range of rum brands that include Botran and Ron Zacapa.
Ron Zacapa
A brand of Guatemalan rum produced at Destiladora de Alcoholes y Rones (DARSA). It was launched in 1976 by Licores de Guatemala, however is today co-owned by Diageo, who aquired a 50% share of the label in 2011. The brand's expressions are blends of solera aged rums, aged in bourbon and sherry wood.
Rum Creation & Products
A company registered in the British Virgin Isle that owns the Ron Zacapa brand. It is a joint venture between Licores de Guatemala and Diageo, with the former having sold a 50% controlling stake in the label to the latter in 2011.
Ron Zacapa Heavenly Cask Collection
A collection of limited edition rums from Ron Zacapa, each of which focusses on a different type of secondary maturation. The expressions in the series are La Doma, El Alma, La Armonia and La Pasión.
