Destilería Paraíso is one of several state-owned rum distilleries in Cuba. It was originally built in 1944 by the Rionda family's Tuinucu Sugar Company but is today run by Melanio Hernández, a sugar manufacturing company that is part of the government's AzCuba group. The distillery became government-owned in 1960 when New Tuinucu Sugar Company (established in 1951) was nationalised by Fidel Castro.

The distillery produces a number of a rum brands for the state-owned Tecnoazucar company that include Ron Mulata and Ron Santero. It also produces Santisima Trinidad de Cuba for Destilerías MG in Spain, and its rum is often found independently bottled (sometimes under the name of its surrounding province, Sancti Spiritus).
