Renegade is a rum distillery on Grenada, located near Upper Pearl in the island's Saint Andrew parish. Construction of the distillery began in 2018 and was completed in 2020, producing its first spirit that year. It is owned by Mark Reynier and takes its name from Renegade Rum Company, an independent rum bottling brand he founded via Murray McDavid in 2007.
As with Reynier's other distilling projects, Renegade is terroir-focussed and produces rum in batches using cane from single farms. The distillery is self-sufficient in this respect and is supplied by a sister company called CaneCo Ltd. It produces a fresh single cane spirit on a combination of a double-retort copper pot still and bespoke column stills made by Forsyths in Scotland.
The Renegade brand was launched in 2021 with the debut of the distillery's first unaged rums. Referred to as its Pre-Cask range, each of the rums in the series is produced using cane harvested from a single farm on the island. Further to this, there are variations of the spirit produced from each source material, with some releases distilled on either the pot or column still at the distillery.
The distillery's aged rums are released in the same fashion. The first of these were debuted in early 2023 and and are referred to by the company as its Études collection.
