Bacardi Superior Carta Blanca
An historic bottle of Bacardi white rum, distilled by the Bacardi family in Santiago de Cuba, the ancestral home of the brand. While the company expanded production (specifically into Mexico and Puerto Rico) through the first half of the 20th century, Santiago would remain the heart of the business until the Cuban revolution when and the company relocated its headquarters to Bermuda.
With no mention of the company's New York office on the label, this bottle likely dates to the Prohibition era of the 1920s, prior to the the updating of the logo displayed here yo a new version in 1931.
Roneras Santiago de Cuba
The oldest operating distillery in Cuba. It was originally built in 1862 by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó and is the historic home of the Bacardi brand. It was seized Fidel Castro's government in 1960 and today is part of the portfolio of the state-owned Corporación Cuba Ron SA.

The original Bacardi company that was incorporated in Cuba in 1919 having been established over half a century earlier. The company and its assets were eventually seized by Fidel Castro's government in 1960, with the family reconstituting its business as Bacardi & Company Limited in The Bahamas.
