Distillerie de Labourdonnais is an agricole rhum producer on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. It was established in 2006 within the Domaine de Labourdonnais, a historic estate which dates back to 1774 and had diverse subsidiary interests across the agriculture and processing, sports and wellness, leisure, and real estate industries prior to expanding into rum production.
The distillery was originally known as Rhumerie des Mascareignes, however was later renamed after its flagship rum brand in 2014. Its rum is produced using fresh juice squeezed from sugarcane harvested from the fields that surround Domaine de Labourdonnais, and distilled in its 39-plate column still.
While known as the Rhumerie des Mascareignes, rum was bottled at the distillery and labelled as La Bourdonnais. The Labourdonnais brand as it is recognised todaty however, was introduced in 2014 along with the rebranding of the distillery.
The brand portfolio is divided into the Classic Range of white, gold and spiced rums, the Liqueur Range and the Prestige range. The latter is comprised of aged rums such as its vintage XO release, Gentleman single casks, and expressions called Amelia, 1774 and Lady Blue.
