Caroni 1985 Full Proof 20 Year Old Heavy
This 1985 vintage is a single cask bottling is from the Blair column still at Caroni and was filled for Velier in France in 2005.
An example of the distillery's heavy type (HTR) rum, this was produced in the brief period between 1980 and 1985 when some sherry was added by Caroni (1975) Ltd to the spirit. This was due to a fear that the decommissioning of the distillery's pot still would reduce the trademark aromatics of its production. The practice was later altered and the sherry added at the blending stage so it is unclear which (if any) Velier bottlings include this as an additive.
