Named for the La Bonne Intention sugar estate, this was produced according to the original LBI recipe. The back label erroneously states this to be a PM marque, distilled in 1998 on the Port Mourant double wooden pot still at Uitvlugt. The marque however is LBI, and the still in question the distillery's Savalle column.
A sugar factory in Guyana that operated a rum distillery until 1999. Pronounced [eye-flut], it was located on the west bank of the Demerara river near the Dutch-established town of the same name. The distillery operated a number of historic stills, many of which are still in operation at Diamond.
A rum company in Guyana, founded in 1983 through the merger of Guyana Distilleries Ltd and Diamond Liquors Ltd. Its flagship brand is the El Dorado label, which produces on a variety of still at Diamond. It also has subsidiary interests across the Caribbean and Europe.
